& Production

Handcrafted  in Austria

Our bed is produced in collaboration with a family-run carpentry workshop in Upper Austria. The workshop has been manufacturing high-quality furniture for decades, combining the expertise of experienced carpenters with state-of-the-art equipment.

Located not far from Freistadt in the Mühlviertel region, the workshop currently employs around 25 staff members.

Solid Wood from Austria

The wood is sourced from local forests and is cut in Upper Austria. Afterward, it undergoes gentle drying and is stored under controlled conditions for several months to achieve the optimal moisture level for further processing.

Oak wood is a very hard and heavy hardwood, known for its exceptional durability. It has been used in furniture making for centuries, creating pieces that will endure for generations to come.

Swiss pine wood is a softwood that grows in alpine high-altitude areas. Its essential oils imbue it with lasting antibacterial, circulation-improving, and calming properties, while also emitting a soothing fragrance.

Crafted  using Traditional Jounery

Industrial solid wood panels are machine-manufactured, featuring narrow slats that result in a striped grain pattern due to the bonding process.

In contrast, our bed is crafted through elaborate, traditional craftsmanship using wide planks. Each individual post is personally selected, shaped, and meticulously joined by hand to form the panel. This meticulous process gives our bed its natural grain pattern.

Surface  oiled or natural

The surface of our oak beds is hand-oiled in multiple passes. We use a blend of natural oils that penetrate deep into the wood, reducing its absorbency. This provides excellent protection against dirt and water while maintaining an open-pore structure, allowing the wood to breathe. The wood retains a natural texture and gains an intensified color tone.

To preserve the natural properties of Swiss pine wood, our Swiss pine beds feature an untreated surface. The wood develops a patina and naturally darkens over the years.
