Materials& Production
DENIM 100% Organic Cotton
We exclusively use top-quality organic certified cotton for our jeans, which is cultivated without the use of genetic engineering, pesticides, or child labor. Farmers employ natural methods such as beneficial insects and neem extract for pest control. Artificial irrigation is largely avoided. Crop rotation is practiced to maintain soil fertility and biodiversity. Farmers receive fair compensation, guaranteed buyers for their harvest, and insurance coverage in case of crop failure. For more information on organic cotton, you can refer to our guide here.
HANDCRAFTED in Portugal
Our jeans are meticulously handcrafted in close collaboration with one of the leading workshops for high-end jeans, ensuring the highest standards of sustainable production. The workshop is located in northern Portugal and currently employs around 90 workers. The exclusive production within the European Union ensures healthy and fair working conditions for the seamstresses as well as short transportation routes.
LINING 100% Organic Cotton
The lining is composed of 100% organic cotton and is woven in Portugal.
Cleaning& Care
Wash inside out at 30°C with similar colors.
Iron at medium heat with steam.
Dry at low heat.
Do not bleach.
Jeans should generally be washed infrequently to prolong their lifespan. Washing them every tenth wear is sufficient.
SUSTAINABLE LAUNDRY
A washing temperature of 30°C is often sufficient, preserving the fibers and saving energy. It consumes only about 2/3 of the energy compared to a wash at 40°C.
The detergent used should be biodegradable, indicated by the Eco-label in Austria, for example. The recommended dosage on the packaging should be followed, with soft water (such as in Vienna) requiring less detergent than hard water.
It is advisable to avoid using fabric softener altogether. Instead of aggressive bleach, a small amount of baking soda can be used, and a little vinegar can help with unpleasant odors.
A significant amount of energy can also be saved by air-drying laundry and avoiding machine drying.
