Mules

Our Mules are crafted from soft, vegetable-tanned goat leather sourced from Spain. In the vegetable tanning process, the leather is tanned using chestnut and oak bark, following centuries-old tradition, in a pit. While this process is more labor-intensive than conventional chrome tanning, it is also much gentler on the environment, producers, and ultimately, the feet.

The lining remains in its natural state, entirely uncoated and undyed. This allows the leather to absorb moisture effectively, promoting a healthy foot climate.

We only use raw hides that are byproducts of the food industry. Tanning in Europe ensures fair working conditions, controlled use of chemicals and wastewater, and short transportation distances.

The Mules are produced in collaboration with a Portuguese family-owned business that has been specializing in crafting high-quality women's shoes for decades. The workshop is located near Porto in northern Portugal and currently employs around 60 staff members.

The sole is made from recycled plastic and is manufactured in Spain.

The dust bag is made from 100% undyed, unbleached organic cotton. It is screen printed and hand-sewn in Italy.
